The
Georgia FFA Alumni and Georgia FFA will hold the Harvest for
America Food Drive on Thurs., April 28 during the Georgia
FFA Convention. FFA members and FFA Alumni affiliates are asked
to donate canned
goods that will be donated to the Macon Area Community Food
Bank. The high school FFA Chapter
that donates the most canned goods will receive one Washington
Leadership Conference scholarship valued at $550. The Middle
School FFA Chapter that donates the most canned goods will
receive a $250 scholarship for use at FFA Camp, Discovery Conference
or State FFA Convention.
To participate, local chapters need only to bring as many
cans of food as possible to Macon.
All
canned food must be dropped off at the Food Bank truck which will
be located in the semi-circle outside of the Alumni area
on the back side of the Convention Center. Do NOT leave your canned
goods inside the career show or at the registration desk! Drop
off all canned goods on Thurs.,
April
28, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Again
this year, chapters
are encouraged to bring jars of Peanut Butter as part of their
donation. The FFA Advisor or alumni representative should complete
the necessary form to let us know how many canned
food
items are donated from your FFA chapter and alumni affiliate.
